My role in the design process included developing a BIM model of the entire station then participating in design development from programming through construction.

The project included improvements to the HVAC system, site signage, staff break space, customer service desk, and the restrooms, which were my main area of focus.

The primary restroom design intent was to promote inclusion and accessibility while improving staff sight lines into the restroom to promote safety and security.

Stalls were constructed with gap-free partitions and mechanical occupancy indicators. Doors were undercut 4” to allow staff to check in with users and/or remove the door in case of an emergency.
